II. OUR OBLIGATION REGARDING THE HOLY SPIRIT

“Be filled with the Spirit.”

1. The grace of the HS should be to the Christian as alcohol is to the drunkard. Acts 2: 13-there must have a parallel.  To the drunkard, alcohol:  [1] Drowns his sorrow and woe.  [2] Fills with a sense of wellbeing. [3] Breaks down inhibitions and fears. In a higher, holy sense, that is what the HS does for the believer. While the impact of alcohol is illusionary and unreal, the HS imparts true joy, peace and courage.
