As a new school year has begun, Rev Foster has been asked to speak at two morning assembly meetings. His theme for 2015-16 is DV, Pictures of Christ in the Bible. Here is what the Lord Jesus Christ said of the Bible's revelation about Himself. "Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me," John 5:39. The Bible gives us all the information about the Lord Jesus that God would have us to know. It is a very extensive revelation. We learn who His ancestors were, where He was born and when, how He was received by men, the death He died and why. We learn also about His divine nature for He was God having united His divine nature to pure and perfect human nature. But it pictures not just the past but also the present and the future. We are informed of what He is doing right now and what He plans to do in the near future! We are shown how He used the Bible's pictures to show two disciples who were confused about what had happened at Calvary. Luke 24:25-27. Note: (1) The Use the Saviour made of the pictures in the Scriptures. (2) The Impact His words had- Changed disposition, V 32, direction, V 33. (3) Those blessed became encourement to others, V35. The whole purpose of the Bible is to reveal, to show to us the Lord Jesus Christ, the Saviour of men and His wonderful work of saving a people out of this sinful world, keeping them and finally, bringing them to glory to be with Himself for ever. This why the devil and all who think like him hate the Bible!!
