As a new school year has begun, Rev Foster has been asked to speak at two morning assembly meetings. His theme for 2015-16 is DV, Pictures of Christ in the Bible. He began on Thursday 24th Sept having just returned from preaching for three weeks in Lewes FPC in East Sussex. Here is what the Lord Jesus Christ said of the Bible's revelation about Himself. "Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me," John 5:39. The Bible gives us all the information about the Lord Jesus that God would have us to know. It is a very extensive revelation. We learn who His ancestors were, where He was born and when, how He was received by men, the death He died and why. We learn also about His divine nature for He was God having united His divine nature to pure and perfect human nature. But it pictures not just the past but also the present and the future. We are informed of what He is doing right now and what He plans to do in the near future! We are shown how He used the Bible's pictures to show two disciples who were confused about what had happened at Calvary. "Then he said unto them, O fools, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken: Ought not Christ to have suffered these things, and to enter into his glory? And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself," Luke 24:25-27.
