ANNUAL KILSKEERY CONFERENCE 30th Anniversary of Kilskeery Christian School "The battle for Christian Education" (The other Conference messages on Christian Education may be seen at : sermonaudio.com/kilskeery) "And they brought unto him also infants, that he would touch them: but when his disciples saw it, they rebuked them. But Jesus called them unto him, and said, Suffer little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God," Luke 18:15-16. That the commencement of Christian education should meet with opposition and result in a battle is not really surprising in the light of God's Word and the history of the struggle of God's people recorded there. Every spiritual advance has ever been met by opposition by the powers of sin and darkness. An example of such resistance is seen in 1 Samuel 7:7. "And when the Philistines heard that the children of Israel were gathered together to Mizpeh, the lords of the Philistines went up against Israel." We have here an attempt by some mothers to have their children blessed by the Lord. It pictures for us the essence of Christian education - bring children to Christ. Please note that the mothers were opposed by the disciples, and that in the presence of Christ.
