2. We are to be filled with the HS.

As man is said to be filled with drink when it controls his being, so we should be under the control of the HS. Acts 4:31; 6:3, 5; 7:55; 13:52 -- graces accompanying fulness.

3. Being filled with the HS is an ongoing process rather than a single experience.

Being filled requires an ogoing relationship with the HS. ”And it came to pass after a while, that the brook dried up, because there had been no rain in the land,” 1 Kings 17:7. When there is an interruption to the supply, then the brook within our soul dries up. We look to other sources for supply. That is what Christians are sadly doing today. Remember the words of Christ. “But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life,” John 4:14. “He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water,” John 7:38. Here is constant, abundant supply through maintaining fellowship with Christ the Water of Life.
