A glimpse at Satan's plan of rebellionRev. Ivan FosterMatthew 4:9 · Sunday - PMSun Aug 30, 2009
A telling glimpse at Satan's plan of rebellion "And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me," Matthew 4:9. (Preached in Penticton FPC, Lord's Day evening, 30th Aug 2009) "A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh," Luke 6:45. The mouth betrays the man. It tells us what is in the heart. It is also the case with the devil. His words tell us much of what is in his heart. It reveals his plan of rebellion from which he never deviates or turns back. It is also clear from this portion that the devil's tactics never change. He successfully tempted Eve by presenting to her eyes that which was desirable. He unsuccessfully tries the same tactic with the Saviour. How we need to guard our eyes. "Turn away mine eyes from beholding vanity; and quicken thou me in thy way," Psalm 119:37.
