Battle/maintain Biblical witnessKilskeery FPC 40th Anniversary · part 2 of 3Rev. Ivan Foster · Sunday - PMActs 19:9 · Sun Aug 17, 2014

"But when divers were hardened, and believed not, but spake evil of that way before the multitude, he departed from them, and separated the disciples, disputing daily in the school of one Tyrannus," Acts 19:9.

From the beginning of the work, even before being constituted as a congregation, the witness in Kilskeery was a battling witness. It challenged the preaching and practices of the ecumenical churches, especially the local Church of Ireland. The local minister and some of his flock were keen supporters of "O'Neillism", the name given to the Ecumenical politics of the Ulster Unionist Party of the day which was led by Terence O'Neill.

The same politics continue today though under a different name!

The people of this witness supported and encouraged this witness of protest, declaring their desire to see a vigorous and militant witness raised against the evils of the day.
