31st School Praise ServiceFear of the LordRev. Ivan Foster · Special MeetingPsalm 128:3 · Fri Jun 25, 2010
The Fear of the Lord - and the blessing it brings to our children "Thy children like olive plants round about thy table," Psalm 128:3. (End of term praise service, June 25th, 2010) Opening prayer led by Mr Ivan Morrison (Clerk of Session) School sings: "Marvelous Grace of God" (All the pupils) "My heart was filled with sin" (Primary pupils) Message: Though this psalm be brief it is full of spiritual meat. The previous psalm tells us the wisest way to build a house. This psalm tells us how best to run our home so that it is place of domestic bliss and blessing, leaving its mark on generations to come. As the previous psalm ended with a "blessing" so this one begins with one. "Happy" and "Blessed" are translated from the same Hebrew word.
