III. THE dreadful harvest of sin “Because of these things cometh the wrath of God.” “For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness,” Rom 1:18.

1. Sin costs us God’s favour. Sin places us in the camp of the enemy. Sin is an act of war against God!

2. Sin brings wrath upon us. As obedience brings blessing, Haggai 2:19, so sin brings wrath. Its approach begins the moment sin occurs. Genesis 2:17. 

3. In eternity, it will reach its fulness. Its first appearance is in time but eternity will reveal its full measure. “And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, even Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come,” 1 Thessalonians 1:10. “Forbidding us to speak to the Gentiles that they might be saved, to fill up their sins alway: for the wrath is come upon them to the uttermost,” 1 Thessalonians 2:16.

IV. THE DISTANCE THAT MUST BE MAINTAINED“Be not ye therefore partakers with them,” verse 7. If we would avoid partaker of the plagues that follow sin, then we must avoid partaking of the sins! “And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues,” Revelation 18:4.  We must take heed tot the visitations of wrath upon sinners and fear the Lord. If they do not learn from judgment, let it not be said of us.
