Separation: A Battle That Must Be Won AgainDoctrine hated by the devilRev. Ivan Foster · Sun May 17, 20092 Corinthians 6:11-18 · Sunday - PM

This message was preached at the evening service of Malvern FPC, Pennsylvanna, on the day the church celebrated its 30th anniversary. Rev Foster was the guest preacher at the weekend because his early labours in the area saw the witness begin in 1978.

SEPARATION - a battle to be fought and won again. "Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you," 2 Corinthians 6:17. Every doctrine in the gospel repertoire has been at the centre of a battle as the enemy of truth ever seeks to destroy the gospel of Christ. The doctrine of Christ's Person, His perfection; His birth, life, death and resurrection; the inspiration of the Scriptures; the regeneration, justification, sanctification, preservation & glorification of the elect -- all of the cardinal doctrines of God's Word have been fought over as the powers of darkness seek to extinguish the Lamp of Truth. No doctrine has been more in the thick of it than that of "separation"! By separation I mean that lifestyle to which the child of God has been called and which has marked every generation of believers who have enjoyed the blessing and power of God, Ps 1:1.
