SWIMMING AGAINST THE TIDE (Preached in Newtownabbey FP Church, Lord's Day morning, 14th May, 2017 by Rev Ivan Foster) 'Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution. But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived. But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them,' 2 Tim 3:12-14. Here is a prediction regarding society that is even more true today than it was 2000 years ago. There is also an exhortation to believers in the light of this prediction. Both statements begin with the word "BUT"! Society is to get ever more wicked BUT believers are to remain stedfast and continue in God's Word. Please consider what these words clearly imply.
