Tenth Picture - Joshua Joshua 1:1-9 Joshua had long been the assistant to Moses. He was one of only two of the 12 spies who was faithful to God and was rewarded for such. 1. His likeness to Christ is first seen in his name. 'Joshua, is the Hebrew form of 'Jesus'. He is called 'Jesus' in Hebs 4:8. "For if Jesus (Joshua) had given them rest, then would he not afterward have spoken of another day." Joshua was given this name by Moses. "These are the names of the men which Moses sent to spy out the land. And Moses called Oshea the son of Nun Jehoshua," Numbers 13:16. We as 'Christians' should bear the name of Christ before the world.
