The Detonator & Dynamite of the gospel "For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek," Romans 1:16. The heart of this text is the word "POWER". It is the word from which we get "dynamite"! It refers to the wonder-working power of God in the gospel. Such is the religion of Christ. It works wonders. It heralds glad and glorious things. "How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace; that bringeth good tidings of good, that publisheth salvation; that saith unto Zion, Thy God reigneth!" Isaiah 52:7. Not so the religion of this world. "Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away," 2 Timothy 3:4-5. This message was preached in Kilskeery FPC on the 23rd anniversary of the preacher's conversion to Christ.
