The Invitations of Christ, 7 The invitation to glory. "Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world," Matthew 25:34. (Concluding message in Rev Foster's 6 months of supplying the pulpit in Tavistock FPC) Here is the final invitation which Christ shall offer to His people. It is an invitation to the experience of the fulness of the benefits of the redemption He purchased by His blood. Whatever hesitations His people may have shown in response to previous invitations there will be no hesitation in response to this one. They will be in their glorified state when this invitation is issued and there will be no holding back from obedience like that manifested during their days in the flesh. There is much to learn from this blessed text. We will consider the TITLE given to those Christ invites; we will also consider the SUBSTANCE of the invitation and finally look at the implications of the word "COME".
