The Resurrection of Christ - the gospel bedrock I Cor 15:1-4. (Preached in Tyndale FPC) There is but a short space of time between the founding of the Church at Corinth and the writing of this epistle. It is most likely a period of around 3 years. Yet in that time the church had drifted from its roots and many corruptions had entered in. 1. Human leadership put first, 1:10-11. 2. Earthly wisdom promoted, 1:18-2:13. 3. The flesh indulged, 2:14-3:7. 4. Future judgment forgotten, 3:8-23. 5. Flattery, 4:6. 6. Failure to discipline sin, 5:1. 7. Carnal disputings, 6:1. Paul's answer to this departure is to reiterate the old gospel fundamentals. This a lesson for today's church.
