Since the beginning of the new school year in September 2015, Rev Foster has been speaking at two morning assembly meetings each week. His theme for 2015-16 is DV, "Pictures of Christ in the Bible." Moses the eighth picture of Christ Moses returned after a long period away, Exodus 4:19. The Lord indicated that the period between His rejection by His people and His return to lead them into liberty would be long. Matt 25:14-19. Note the words 'Far' and 'After a long time.' He was acceptance by his brethren. This is recorded in Exodus 4:29-31. How different was this from his first appearing and his rejection by the Hebrews! How beautifully it prefigured Israel's acceptance of their Messiah at His second appearing! Note also that both the Saviour and Moses were a Prophet, Priest and a King. Deuteronomy 18:18 and compare John 7:16, 8:28. "Moses and Aaron among His priests," Ps. 99:6. "Moses commanded us a law, even the inheritance of the congregation of Jacob. And he was king in Jeshurun" (Deut. 33:4, 5). So Christ is King in Zion, and will yet be over the Jews (Luke 1:32, 33). Both Moses and the Lord Jesus initiated a new day for their people. "And the LORD spake unto Moses and Aaron in the land of Egypt, saying," Exodus 12:1. So it is too with each believer when they are born again. It is a new beginning. "Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new," 2 Corinthians 5:17.
