Christ on trial, Pt 1. "Christ before the elders" What was said of Christ in I Timothy 6:13, when He appeared before Pilate may be said of all the Saviour's appearances before His enemies. "Christ Jesus, who before Pontius Pilate witnessed a good confession," I Timothy 6:13. The word "good" means "fitting, well suited". How suitable were the words of Christ to the religious leaders of Israel before whom He is answering in our text. The words were for their good. He did not speak to save Himself but to leave these men without doubt as to Who it was they were dealing with. Consider the Saviour's words.
