Future Feasts in Jerusalem "And it shall come to pass, that every one that is left of all the nations which came against Jerusalem shall even go up from year to year to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, and to keep the feast of tabernacles. And it shall be, that whoso will not come up of all the families of the earth unto Jerusalem to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, even upon them shall be no rain. And if the family of Egypt go not up, and come not, that have no rain; there shall be the plague, wherewith the LORD will smite the heathen that come not up to keep the feast of tabernacles. This shall be the punishment of Egypt, and the punishment of all nations that come not up to keep the feast of tabernacles," Zechariah 14:16-19. These words have caused much controversy amongst some. Some object to the idea of the restoration of any feasts or sacrifices, claiming that they conflict with Hebrews 10:12-14. "But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God; From henceforth expecting till his enemies be made his footstool. For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified." But we must first of all face up to the fact that Zechariah 14:16-19 is the Word of God and we may not quarrel with its plain statements. Secondly, let it be remembered that no atoning efficacy was found in the Old Testament sacrifices and offerings. Rather they were merely pointing to the GREAT sacrifice of Calvary. Let us first of all note: I. When the 'Feast of Tabernacles' will take place. Can we be sure that this is not a reference to a past event during the time of the Old Testament era?
