Since the beginning of the new school year in September 2015, Rev Foster has been asked to speak at two morning assembly meetings each week. His theme for 2015-16 is DV, "Pictures of Christ in the Bible." Eighth Picture of Christ Moses - a Prophet who foreshadowed Christ None could claim a greater likeness to Christ than Moses. "The LORD thy God will raise up unto thee a Prophet from the midst of thee, of thy brethren, like unto me; unto him ye shall hearken," Deuteronomy 18:15. His early knowledge of his Mission. Long years before he actually entered upon his great work, Moses knew of God's purpose to use him. "For he supposed his brethren would have understood how that God by his hand would deliver them: but they understood not," Acts 7:25. 1. Moses acted presumptiously. What he did was not in God's will or in God's time. 2. He then ran away in fear. "Now when Pharaoh heard this thing, he sought to slay Moses. But Moses fled from the face of Pharaoh, and dwelt in the land of Midian," Exodus 2:15. 3. He was most reluctant to obey God. "Come now therefore, and I will send thee unto Pharaoh, that thou mayest bring forth my people the children of Israel out of Egypt. And Moses said unto God, Who am I, that I should go unto Pharaoh, and that I should bring forth the children of Israel out of Egypt?" Exodus 3:10 - 11. However, this was never so with the Lord Jesus. As a boy of twelve, Christ said to His mother, "Wist ye not that I must be about My Father's business?" (Luke 2:49). We are given His attitude to His Father's will in Psalm 40:8. "I delight to do thy will, O my God: yea, thy law is within my heart." The Saviour obeyed His Father perfectly.
