McGuinness's Lust for MurderMurder CondemnedRev. Ivan Foster · Sunday - PMMatthew 19:18 · Sun Mar 2, 2008
Our text is part of the Saviour's response to a most solemn question: "Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life?" I thought upon these words when I read a statement by Martin McGuinness in an interview on RTE radio. He said he would have killed, without compunction, every British soldier in Londonderry in the aftermath of 'Bloody Sunday', when paratroops shot dead 13 people following a civil rights march, if he'd had the opportunity. Whether or not the troops were guilty of unjustifiable actions is not the point in question. Rather, it is right to ask if the perpetrators of the shootings were guilty of unlawfully killing 13 people, is it justified to desire to kill every soldier in Londonderry in response to the actions of a few? Martin McGuinness believes it would have been morally right. Martin McGuinness is a man guilty of murder. Amongst Protestant and many Roman Catholics, that would be deemed a correct estimate of the man.
