ENGAGED IN SUCH A MINISTRY WE ARE THUS ENCOURAGED NOT TO FAINT

1. There is the danger of fainting in God’s work. The word refers to turn cowardly and thus to faint away dispirited. Many things tend to make cowards of us.

Fear of man — Jer 1:8. The difficulties faced —Nehemiah 4:10. Our own corruptions — Romans 7:18-19. If we cannot help ourselves how can we help others??

2. A forgetting of the true nature of the gospel ministry will promote fainting. Zech 4:6, Matt 28:18-20, John 15:5.

3. A right view of the work in which he was engaged kept Paul from fainting, 2 Cor 2:14.
