Christ's Policy of Zero ToleranceSin is Followed by JudgmentRev. Ivan Foster · Sunday - PMRevelation 19:15 · Sun Feb 3, 2008
Zero tolerance is the concept of an inflexible repression of all infringements of the law. In the midst of growing lawlessness it is more widely spoken of as a means of curbing lawlessness on the streets. The Lord has always operated a policy of zero tolerance toward sin. He did not tolerate the sin of the devil and those angels which followed him in his rebellion, Jude 1:6. He did not tolerate the sin of our first parents. "Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned," Romans 5:12. It may appear to some that God does tolerate sin. "Because sentence against an evil work is not executed speedily, therefore the heart of the sons of men is fully set in them to do evil," Ecclesiastes 8:11. God's own people have often been in error about this matter also. "Behold, these are the ungodly, who prosper in the world; they increase in riches. Verily I have cleansed my heart in vain, and washed my hands in innocency," Psalm 73:12-13. "Righteous art thou, O LORD, when I plead with thee: yet let me talk with thee of thy judgments: Wherefore doth the way of the wicked prosper? wherefore are all they happy that deal very treacherously?" Jeremiah 12:1. Such a perception has led to despondency and false accusations against God's justice. In truth, zero tolerance of sin is ever in force though the day of judgment may be a long time in coming. "Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap," Galatians 6:7
