Why Revival Tarries? - Pt 4Because few will submitRev. Ivan Foster · Sunday - PMHosea 10:12 · Sun Feb 22, 2009
"Sow to yourselves in righteousness, reap in mercy; break up your fallow ground: for it is time to seek the LORD, till he come and rain righteousness upon you," Hosea 10:12. If we are to regain God's blessing then we must deal with the improper affections that divert our hearts from God and we must act to cut them off. "He also that received seed among the thorns is he that heareth the word; and the care of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, choke the word, and he becometh unfruitful," Matthew 13:22. "For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live," Rom 8:13. In the text before us we have another analogy of the same truth. This sermon was preached in Tavistock FPC in Devon, England where Ivan Foster, having retired from the pastorate, has just occupied the vacant pulpit for 10 weeks. It is the final message in a series on the hindrances to true revival.
