A Time for a Decision! (Part 2) "Pilate saith unto them, What shall I do then with Jesus which is called Christ?" Matthew 27:22. I would like to return to the text which we looked at this morning. Then I applied the words to Christians. Now I wish to apply them to those who have not yet "done" anything with the Saviour other than ignore Him and turn a deaf ear to His words. Three points tonight. I. WE ALL HAVE TO DO WITH CHRIST In truth, we cannot ignore Him ultimately. Those who turn their back on Christ will discover that such an attitude has been registered in Heaven as REJECTION! Those who strove to have nothing to do with Christ will discover that such striving will count with God as a saying NO to the Saviour's offer of mercy. The question asked here cannot be avoided. Pilate wonderfully illustrates the inevitability of 'doing' something with Christ. II. PILATE WAS WELL INFORMED OF WHAT IT WAS HE SHOULD DO WITH CHRIST He did not make his decision in darkness. He was an informed man. III. THE GREAT MISTAKE THAT PILATE MADE WAS TO ALLOW THE CROWD TO MAKE HIS DECISION FOR HIM Tonight you stand where Pilate stood and where sinners have ever stood when confronted with the gospel. Don't let the crowd make a decision for you! What will YOU do with Jesus?
