Zion's captivity turned - 3True revival · part 3 of 3Rev. Ivan Foster · Prayer MeetingPsalm 126:3-6 · Mon Feb 15, 2010
" The LORD hath done great things for us; whereof we are glad. Turn again our captivity, O LORD, as the streams in the south. They that sow in tears shall reap in joy. He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him," Psalm 126:3-6. (Preached in the prayer meeting in Lewes FPC) The Psalm 126 has a REMEMBERING of the past, verses 1-2; a REFLECTION on the present - verse 3; and a REQUEST for the future - verses 4-6. This Psalm is as a commentary on what it is the Saviour told the church in Ephesus in Rev 2:5. "Remember, Repent and Do thy first works." It is in contemplating the Lord's mercies in the past that our souls are aroused to desire to see the same blessings fall upon us again.
