Zion's captivity turned - 2True revival · part 2 of 3Rev. Ivan Foster · Sunday - PMPsalm 126:1-2 · Sun Feb 14, 2010
"When the LORD turned again the captivity of Zion, we were like them that dream. Then was our mouth filled with laughter, and our tongue with singing: then said they among the heathen, The LORD hath done great things for them," Psalm 126:1-2. (Preached at the evening service in Lewes FPC) THE EFFECT UPON THE NATION OF REVIVAL IN THE CHURCH. Such a revived church shall have an impact upon all around her. 1. The world shall consider the affairs of God's people. {'Said' = 'to say or think in the heart.'} They are aroused to notice and heed. How dreadful it is today that what we do and say is ignored. We see the professing people of God aping the world in order to get its attention. We are as poor, blinded Samson to the world - an object of mockery, Judges 16:25. 2. The world will acknowledge revival as a work of God. They will call God 'Jehovah'. 3. It will be acknowledged as a work benefiting God's people. Great things for them. 4. The world will acknowledge the distinction between itself and the believer. Great things for them. Here is a confession that is not readily made.
