A summary of events leading up to the Day of the Lord I have already stated that as the Day of the Lord draws nearer, the Lord will signal its approach. As He warned of the approach of the day of judgment in the time of Noah, by the means of the building of the ark and the preaching of Noah so likewise there will be not only the Word of God preached regarding the approach of Christ's return but there will be events taking place which will enable the believer to measure how near is the Lord's return. Could I emphasise that the last seven years of this age will be filled with notable events about which the Lord has given us many details - the rise of the Antichrist, his links with the Jews and Jerusalem, his turning against them and initiating a great persecution of them, the ministry of the two witnesses in Jerusalem during this time of "Jacob's Trouble" -- these things and more will inform the child of God that the second coming of Christ draws near, it is even at the door. "So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors," Matthew 24:33.
