Will the discerning believer know of the approach of Christ's advent? There are those who would teach that the believer, no matter how discerning and watchful they may be, cannot know of the approach of the Saviour's return. My answer to that rather foolish assertion is simple! If we cannot tell of the approach of the Day of the Lord, why does He command us to watch for it? Would it not be pointless of the Lord to issue us with such a command if we cannot see the signs of its approach? He never commands us to do that which by His grace we are able to perform. Again, what would be the purpose of giving us the prophecies related to the second coming? Therefore we can be assured that signs indicating the approach of the Saviour's return are there and can be seen by those who look in accordance with the teaching of scripture.
