Why we should love the Jewish people Holocaust Memorial Day 2016. On this day in 1945, there took place the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau Nazi concentration camp. With that event the world was given irrefutable evidence of the cruel and satanic attack upon the Jewish people by Nazi Germany. Today I want to tell you why we should and must love the Jewish people. 1. Our blessed Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ, was a Jew. We are given the Saviour's ancestry repeatedly in the Holy Scriptures. "The book of the generation of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham," Matthew 1:1. "Concerning his Son Jesus Christ our Lord, which was made of the seed of David according to the flesh," Romans 1:3. "Who are Israelites . . . . and of whom as concerning the flesh Christ came, who is over all, God blessed for ever. Amen," Romans 9:4-5. 2. The Jews gave us the Holy Scriptures. "What advantage then hath the Jew? or what profit is there of circumcision? Much every way: chiefly, because that unto them were committed the oracles of God," Romans 3:1-2. "For what nation is there so great, who hath God so nigh unto them, as the LORD our God is in all things that we call upon him for? And what nation is there so great, that hath statutes and judgments so righteous as all this law, which I set before you this day?" Deuteronomy 4:7-8. 3. They became God's missionaries to us in Europe and to all the world. "And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature," Mark 16:15. See also Acts 16:8-12; 19:21; Romans 15:24.
