2. A mark of permanence. As a sealing of a wound assures healing so the sealing by the HS assures the continuance of the believer. His grace maintains the inclination to press on. Job 17:9.

3. A sign of property. The HS marks out those who are Christ's. 2 Tim 2:19.

4. A evidence of security. None can tamper with God's property, which we are.
