The importance of the prayer meeting No 2 - The great accomplishments of prayer. "And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive." Matthew 21:22 AV. "If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you." John 15:7 AV. (Preached in Tavistock FPC) The two texts before us set forth two separate requirements regarding prayer but are united in their affirmation as to what can be accomplished in prayer. Matt 21:22 states that in prayer we are required to believe God's willingness and ability to give what we ask. In John 15:7 we are required to abide in Christ - our affections fixed upon Him, with His Word abiding in us, ruling over us - then we shall ask according to His will and for His glory and so obtain an answer.
