The Ultimate Revival #14Studies in Isaiah 51:9-11 · part 14 of 16Rev. Ivan Foster · Sunday - AMIsaiah 51:9-11 · Sun Dec 3, 2006
We have been engaged in a study of the background of this prayer. It is a prayer that Israel will one day utter when annihilation stares her in the face as the forces of Antichrist muster for one final attack upon Jerusalem. We have considered how it was that the people found themselves in such a position of desperate need and the recognition granted to them of the only way out. That way was of course by prayer. Today we consider: III. THIS DELIVERANCE WILL BE THE FULLEST MANIFESTATION OF THE POWER OF THE GOD OF BATTLES MANKIND HAS EVER WITNESSED 1. Conversion is a marvellous work. "But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light," 1 Peter 2:9. 2. Revival is a fuller manifestation of God's power at work. "Shew thy marvellous lovingkindness, O thou that savest by thy right hand them which put their trust in thee from those that rise up against them," Psalm 17:7. Every revival was a deliverance from "those that rise up against" God's people. 3. The return of Christ will be a marvellous thing. Micah 7:15-20. 4. The events in the Millennial kingdom will be marvellous. Zech 8:1-8. May God work wonderfully and marvelously in our day, giving us a foretaste of the glories of that great day.
