Backsliding, an insidious danger. Luke 2:41-52. Earlier in Luke chapter 2, we read of Simeon coming into the temple and meeting with the infant Christ and embracing Him. In verse 41-52, we have Mary and Joseph estranged from Christ for a period. These two picture are most instructive -- one of faith at work in coming to Christ, the other, backsliding at work putting away Christ. Tonight I wish to speak upon the subject of the ever-present and insidious threat of backsliding which faces every child of God.
