Especially in the gospel, 2 Tim 3:15. Ships need pilots at beginning of their journey. 2. Submit to all corrections. Heb 12:9. Job blessed God when chastened, Job 1:20-22. David likewise, Ps 119:67-68, 71-72. 3. Show affection and gratitude. Joseph's first question, Gen 43:7, 45:3. Amongst Saviour's last thoughts, John 19:25-27. Solomon, 1 Kings 2:19. HONOURING PARENTS BRINGS ITS OWN REWARDS "That it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the earth," verse 3. 1. Avoid their mistakes. 1 Cor 10:11, Rom 15:4, 1 Peter 3:10-11. 2. Benefit fro their wisdom. 3. We receive God's blessing. 2Chron 17:1-6, Psalm 19:11b. Such honour will repay.
