Israel's prayer is heard and answered, Psalm 10, Part 4KICS Studies - Some of my Favorite Psalms · part 57 of 69Rev. Ivan Foster · YouthPsalm 10:12 · Tue Oct 25, 2022

“Arise, O LORD; O God, lift up thine hand: forget not the humble,” verse 12.

I read Daniel 10 this morning. I noted verses 14 and 21. “Now I am come to make thee understand what shall befall thy people in the latter days: for yet the vision is for many days,” verse 14. “But I will shew thee that which is noted in the scripture of truth,” verse 21.

Israel is at the centre of God’s purpose in redemption.

1. It shows an awakening to a knowledge of God in the nation of Israel. “LORD, thou hast heard the desire of the humble: thou wilt prepare their heart, thou wilt cause thine ear to hear,” verse 17.Generally speaking, Israel does not pray to the Lord today. Yes, there is, as Paul says: “a remnant according to the election of grace,” Romans 11:5.But by far, the nation rejects the God of the Bible and utterly repudiates the name of Jesus Christ. However, that will come to an end.

2. There is a need for their hearts to be ‘prepared’. It means ‘make ready’, Gen 43:16, Exodus 23:20. It has been rightly said that heaven is a ‘prepared’ place for a ‘prepared’ people!

3. Their prayer will be heard. The wicked do not think this will happen, verse 11. But the prayer of Israel will be heard, 12-15. What a prayer this is. It shows the awakened faith amongst the Jews. The Lord answers and ends His silence toward them. He responds to the wickedness of men toward His people.

4. The triumph of the Lord. There is an overthrowing of the wicked, verse 15, a purging of the ‘Holy Land’, verse 16 and an end to the oppression of His people, verse 18.
