The ever-open Bible which is seldom read, Pt 2KICS Studies - Some of my Favorite Psalms · part 26 of 69Rev. Ivan Foster · YouthPsalm 19:4-6 · Thu Apr 28, 2022

“There is no speech nor language, where their voice is not heard. Their line is gone out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world. In them hath he set a tabernacle for the sun, which is as a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, and rejoiceth as a strong man to run a race. His going forth is from the end of the heaven, and his circuit unto the ends of it: and there is nothing hid from the heat thereof,” verses 4-6.

In our last study I emphasised that here is a great declaration that all should heed. The Lord wants us to take heed to what His creation says. Note ‘declare’, ‘sheweth’, ‘their voice’, ‘their words’.

1. Note the universality of the message. All can read this message except the blind! No matter what your ‘mother tongue’ is, you can read God’s message in the sky alongside all others, whose language you cannot understand. Even the youngest boy or girl here, just learning to read, can read God’s message in the sky!

Is this not the most wonderful display of God’s power and wisdom. “But I say, Have they not heard? Yes verily, their sound went into all the earth, and their words unto the ends of the world,” Roms10:18.

2. Note the word ‘line’. “Their line is gone out through all the earth.” The word is used of a measuring cord. 1 Kings 7:23, Job 38:5, Eze 47:3. We measure all things by what we see revealed of God up in the sky, His supreme greatness, His infinite wisdom, His lovingkindness and mercy that He displayed in stooping down to deal in grace with fallen creatures.

3. Please note that the chief object in the heavens is the sun. It is brighter than the moon and the stars. It is central to God’s display.

(A). It speaks to us of Christ. “But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings (rays); and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall,” Malachi 4:2. The light of Christ brings life, blessing, joy and fruitfulness.

(B). As the sun is the chief object in the sky so the Lord Jesus is the central figure in the Bible. “To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins,” Acts 10:43.

(C). The light of the sun reaches all the earth. There is blessing for all who will avail of the offer of the gospel.

Have you received the Lord Jesus as your Saviour?
