The Lord is the VICTOR in this war! His will and purpose is accomplished!

GOD SUCCEEDING

In spite of all the resistance of men, God has established His Son as King of Zion. It was the triumph of God’s Son that the nations wished to stop.

1. Christ, God’s King, is established. Set — instituted. “I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it,” Matthew 16:18. Note ‘present’ tense even though its yet future. Daniel 7:13-14, Php 2:9-11. A ‘future’ exaltation.

2. Christ is established in lowliness. The hill of Zion is not the greatest hill in the world, though it will be lifted up above its present level, Isa 2:2. So God’s cause is not considered a great cause. It is associated with those who are nothing. “But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty; and base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are,”

I Cor 1:27-29. Lowly, yes but it cannot be overthrown.
