Today the Rev Ivan Foster considers the section of prayer which finds men asking for their daily bread.

This teaches us to ask God for what will keep us out of poverty, but this does not mean to ask for riches and goods.

Great riches and fullness of bread is dangerous. Remember Sodom and Gomorrah which were destroyed for pride.

This verse also shows that we are to ask for daily bread for others and not just ourselves.
