“By faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king: for he endured, as seeing him who is invisible,” verse 27.
Boys and girls, we are seeking to illustrate from the life of God’s great saints - and presently we are looking at Moses - lessons that will help us in our pilgrimage through life. That is the reason God has given us the Bible. “For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope,” Romans 15:4.

1. Note that a fear of Pharaoh did not stop Moses from leaving Egypt. He had stubbornly refused the request to let Israel go and had shown his hard heart. But Moses did not fear his anger. Many miss heaven out of fear, Rev 21:8. Fear of FRIENDS, WORLD, DEVIL!!

2. Please note that Moses escaped the difficulties and trials that he had experienced in Egypt. He ‘forsook’ Egypt! The word means he ‘left Egypt behind’! If you are are a Christian one day we will leave this old world and its trials and miseries behind! Paul said this about his anticipated departure. “For . . . . to depart, and to be with Christ; is far better,” Philippians 1:23. Paul said moreover: “For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens,” 2Corinthians 5:1.

We, like Moses have a ‘Promised Land’ awaiting us.
