A cure for sin "Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed," 1 Peter 2:24. (Preached in a gospel mission being conducted in Cookstown FPC, Tuesday 4th November, 2014.) What a privilege it is to be commissioned to proclaim unto men that there is a cure for sin! These words of Peter provide us with the sum and substance of the gospel of Christ. He brings us to the cross or the tree as he calls it. He explains the significance of the events there so long ago and the blessed deliverance from sin that was wrought out there. May we gather around the cross this evening and may our eyes be opened to its wonders.
