The Fire of our Love Diminishing -- Rev 2:4-5. (Preached in Tavistock FPC, Devon, England) Having considered last Lord's Day morning the fact that nothing can compensate, in the eyes of Christ, for the loss of our first love and that this seen in the Saviour's use of the word "nevertheless" at the beginning of our text; and that even a people so mightily privileged as the Ephesian church may backslide; we come now to consider just what our "First Love" is and what is entailed in leaving it. We will turn to Jeremiah 2:2 where we are given a wonderful definition of "First Love."
