Doubtless, in the great providence of God, a mutual affection had sprung up. God would never ordain a marriage without true love being its basis. The marriage that God arranges will last! There is teaching here for us all us Christians. NAOMI EXPLAINED HOW RUTH COULD CLAIM HELP FROM BOAZ Up until that moment Ruth did not know fully who Boaz was or the wonderful benefit that he could be to her. Naomi will have to teach how she may claim the blessings of redemption through Boaz, her 'Kinsman redeemer'. Naomi wanted to obtain rest for Ruth. "Then Naomi her mother in law said unto her, My daughter, shall I not seek rest for thee, that it may be well with thee?" Ruth 3:1. Security and rest for the future. That is what the Saviour gives. "He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters." Psalms 23:2. That is what every Christians should seek for the unsaved around them. It is what Christ came to provide. "Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest," Matthew 11:28. It is our duty to likewise seek that eternal rest found only in Christ for our loved ones and neighbours.
