Of what does salvation consist? "For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God," 1 Peter 3:18. (Preached in Lewes FPC, England. First preached in a gospel mission at Lakemount, near Trillick, Co. Tyrone on December 12th, 1979) In this short series of gospel messages, we have looked at why it is all men need to be saved and also just where we are to look for salvation. Today, we look a little at what salvation consists of. The matter of profitability is very important in these days of economic crisis. Businessmen are slow to venture upon an enterprise unless they are first of all convinced it is a good investment. Such a practice is both sound and scriptural. "For which of you, intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first, and counteth the cost, whether he have sufficient to finish it?" Luke 14:28. As a means of encouraging you to receive Christ as your Redeemer, I want to display something of the treasures of God's mercy. Of course, it is impossible for me to display all "the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus," Ephesians 2:7. The estates of the saved sinner in Christ are so vast that it could not be done. However, we can look as some of the riches embraced by the repentant sinner.
