Waiting on the Lord Pt 4Running without wearinessRev. Ivan Foster · Sunday - PMIsaiah 40:31 · Sun Nov 21, 2010
SOARING UPWARD OUT OF DESPAIR, Pt 4 "They shall run, and not be weary," Isaiah 40:31. (Preached in Lewes FPC. First preached in Kilskeery FPC 7th November 1999) So far in our study we have noted:-- *The name given to believers -- They that wait upon the LORD. *The strength believers possess and the constant renewing of that strength that must take place. *The evidence of strength renewed -- The soaring eagle speaks of our communion with God in the heavenly places. Now we will consider: Running without weariness. It refers to the manner of our service for the Lord. Evidence of this is seen in the first appearances of the word. Please check these verses. Genesis 18:2, 7; 24:17, 20, 28; 41:14; I Samuel 3:5; 17:22, 48, 51. These are but some of the instances when running was expressive of an eagerness to serve.
