We have been engaged in a study of the background of this prayer. It is a prayer that Israel will one day utter when annihilation stares her in the face as the forces of Antichrist muster for one final attack upon Jerusalem. The Psalm 74 predicts that terrible time and you will see a great similarity between it and this passage, verses 12-23 in particular. We have considered how it was that the people found themselves in such a position of desperate need and the recognition granted to them of the only way out. That way was of course by prayer. We wish to consider God's work of deliverance.
