How gloriously relevant is every part of the Scriptures of Truth! It is more than a history book. It is a book of heavenly matter, centred upon the Lord Jesus Christ. The Bible is the antidote of doubt and sorrow and despondency. It is to the sacred records of Scripture that the Lord Jesus turned to comfort and instruct the hearts of the two on the road to Emmaus. Preachers: note the medicine the Saviour applied to broken hearts and confused minds! "The things concerning himself." Let that be every preacher's theme.
