Things concerning Himself - Pt 2Medicine for despondency · part 1 of 2Rev. Ivan Foster · Sunday - PMLuke 24:27 · Sun Jan 10, 2010
The things concerning Himself "And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself," Luke 24:27. As we conclude the study we began this morning, we will see indeed how that the Bible is the antidote of doubt and sorrow and despondency. It is to the sacred records of Scripture that the Lord Jesus turned to comfort and instruct the hearts of the two on the road to Emmaus. The Saviour, in speaking of "The things concerning himself" highlighted His "suffering" and His "glory". This too should be the heart of our Bible studies. Just what a benefit such a study became may be seen in this chapter. A great transformation is seen in the disposition of the two disciples. The chief thing to note is that such a study must be supervised by the Lord Jesus Himself. He must "expound" the Scriptures for us.
