The funeral of the Lord Jesus Christ was, like all that concerned Him, utterly unique. He was the Son of God, the life of the World, the Creator of all things and yet He died and was buried! He was not buried from His home for He had none. "And Jesus saith unto him, The foxes have holes, and the birds of the air have nests; but the Son of man hath not where to lay his head," Matthew 8:20. He was laid out on the cross and it was from there that He was taken and buried. He only lay in the grave three days and nights before rising again without seeing corruption. "For thou wilt not leave my soul in hell; neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption," Psalm 16:10. Such a funeral had never taken place before in all of history.
