The Second Coming of Christ. (Preached in Bethel FPC. First preached in Kilskeery FPC, 2 December 1984) "Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven," Acts 1:11. The two most important events in this world history have at their centre one person - the Lord Jesus Christ. His first advent saw Him come in humility to die on the cross for the sins of His people. His second advent will be a revelation of His power and glory as He comes to gather His people unto Himself. One event is passed. We await the other, with absolute certainty that it will, in exact fulfilment of the prophecies which foretell it, take place. Christ is coming again!
