"Thy wife shall be as a fruitful vine by the sides of thine house: thy children like olive plants round about thy table," Psalm 128:3. It can be easily seen that this psalm springs out of the previous psalm. There the foundation of a good home is mentioned, Ps 127:1 while in this psalm, the house now has a family in residence and children are found there. This is the family of a good man. He fears or reverences the Lord and shows that he does by walking in God's ways. True faith is something found in the hearts and manifested by our walk. The image of the good family is taken from the eastern fields but we are familiar enough with the principles of harvest time to be able to learn from this psalm.
